PHOTO ESSAYJANUARY 2016
Leaving Austin on January 2nd, we soon found ourselves in Texas hill country. The hills were relentless for a week, a consistent up and down of 7% to 17% grades. Still, it made our legs strong, we could feel ourselves getting fitter and faster.
Texas had not finished with us just yet. We were battered by rain, headwinds and I had a bout of food poisoning – Breakfast Burrito I hate you. After the hills came the desert, we pushed on, climbing to 4200 feet to finally reach our final goal of the US, Big Bend National Park.
Total so far: 1480 miles.
